Kennedy (John F.) Library and Museum is dedicated.

Architect: I.M. Pei & Partners. Some 7,000 people, including President Jimmy Carter, attend the event at the library, which is located at 220 Morrissey Boulevard. The complex holds the late president’s papers and memorabilia, as well as those of writer Ernest Hemingway. Deborah Leff is the current director.
